In the book 'The curious incident of the dog in the night-time,' the main character Christopher suffers from autism. Because of his disability some of his thoughts are different. For example, some of the things that make Christopher happy are red cars, Toby (his rat), Siobhan (his social worker), doing math and physics (prime numbers), being a detective worker, finding things out, he likes it when everything is in order, mystery novels, and getting up in the middle of the night for a walk. As you can see, due to his disability some of the thoughts he has about what makes him happy are different than what most people would experience.
Some of the things that make Christopher sad are, when he sees 4 yellow cars in a row on the way to school, which makes his day a 'Black day'. Christopher's black days are days that he chooses not to talk to anyone and doesn't eat. Other things that made Christopher sad were when his mother died, and when Wellington died.
Things that make Christopher mad may seem like little things to many but are a big deal to him. For example, Christopher hates being touched. If someone touches him he will either hit them or lash out in some other way. Other examples would be when people don't follow the rules, when people tell him what to do, when people aren't straight forward, and big changes. Most of these emotions that Christopher feels are all altered because of his autism. His disability causes some of his thoughts to be different. This is what makes him so different and special.
